Agri - tourism

The Prefecture of Arta is a place rich in alternative forms of tourism and particularly at the agri-tourism department.

In all the Prefecture an effort is made so that the hospitality of the visitors is done in an environment simple, with local character, offering all the essential comforts but without luxurious elations.

The visitor comes close to the rural lifestyle, the cultures, the rural work, nature, the flora and the fauna, becomes familiar with the ethics and the customs of the region which revive in an authentic way.

At all departments there is an effort for an active participation of the tourist to a total of activities: 

1. rural activities (eg meditation of citrus fruits, olive, etc). 
2. ecotourism (observation of birds, fauna, flora, visits of water biotopes, etc) -  Centre of Environmental Education of Arachthos, Centre of information of Salaora, Observatory of Stroggili.
3. adventure sports (rafting, walking, Cliffside parachuting etc)  DIMITRIS KASELOYRIS (OVERLAND of SOUTHERN PINDOS),  FOREST VILLAGE, Flying club of Arta, Alpine Club of Arta)
4. cultural tours (visits in monasteries, churches, bridges, museums of folklore etc, traditional settlements, archaeological sites) -  Museum of Classic Antiquities, Folklore Museum of Skoufas, Folklore Museum of Karalis, Historical museum of Skoufas, Forest village and many Byzantine, post byzantine churches and traditional stone bridges.
5. production of traditional raki. 
6. craftsmanship and production of traditional sweets (Agro-touristic union of Women of Peta, Feminine Homemade Union of Vigla)
