Conventional tourism is the kind of tourism which is connected to tracking of conventions, exhibitions etc. Conventional tourism represents an important market at an international level.
An important role to the growth of conventional tourism , is played by the availability of essential infrastructures and services, like amphitheatres, exhibition spaces, lodgings, infrastructures for coffee and dining, language translation services, etc. Also, the easy access to the place of realisation of a convention or an exhibition is a critical factor for the attracting of visitors.
Conventional tourism in the prefecture of Arta is being developed gradually during the last years. The required infrastructures for the realisation of conventions, like convention centres, suitable lodgings, road transport, etc are available. Especially at the town of Arta the amphitheatrical hall of DIONI that belongs to the Municipality of Arta is found, the SKOYFAS hall that belongs the music club "SKOYFAS" as well as the halls of the hotels ARTA PALACE and BYZANTINO near the town of Arta. Consequently, the potential of convention realisation exists.
The geographic positioning of the Prefecture, a nodal point in North-western Greece, the natural wealth, the protected from the treaty of RAMSAR, NATURA 2000 etc locations, the rich historical - ecclesiastical and cultural heritage of the region, but also the seat of Technological Educational Institute of Epirus in the town of Arta, help Arta's prospect for the realisation of scientific conventions, offering at the same time high conventional services, and also recreation.
